In June of 2017 I joined Grant Thornton as partner in charge of the audit division of the Madrid office. My main responsibilities are the management of commercial, budgetary, strategic and personnel policy of said office. In addition, I am the partner responsible for the audit of large international and national groups such as Bergé y Compañía, Altos Spain and Correos y Telégrafos (among others), as well as listed and unlisted companies in the Real Estate industry (SOCIMIs, developers, club deals, family offices, etc.). I have an eminently national and international profile, having worked in France, USA, UK and Spain, and having participated in several works with a highly multidisciplinary character.
Prior to joining Grant Thornton, I was CEO of VBARE SOCIMI, a residential listed enterprise, being the first SOCIMI in the Mercado Alternativo Bursátil (“MAB”) with a clear vocation for growth and fundraising. My main responsibilities in this company were to lead the IPO process, the management of the different capital increases (pre and post listing), definition and implementation of a business strategy leading the Comité de Supervisión e Inversión, investment analysis and final acquisition decision, fundraising and investor relations (raised +25 million euros in private placements) and international roadshow. Moreover, I was in charge of the optimal financing structure and leverage of the vehicle in order to maximize profitability for shareholders, monitoring quarterly closings under IFRS and cash forecasts.
Practically since the end of my university studies, I have worked for PwC for 16 years, a professional services company in which I was an audit partner for large national and international groups, in the Madrid and Paris offices, being responsible for the expansion of the real estate sector in all business areas of the firm and mainly in the SOCIMI segment.
During my professional career I have participated in numerous IPO processes and advised in more than half of the SOCIMIs currently listed. I have extensive international experience, being a specialist in IFRS, IPOs, EPRA Reporting and Consolidation.
I have a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Universidad Complutense de Madri and a Master’s in Account Auditing from Universidad de Alcalá de Henares. I am Censor Jurado de Cuentas, a member of the ROAC (Official Spanish Registry of Auditors), and an expert in Accountant.
I have two girls who take up as much of my time as they need but I am fully aligned with a proper work-life balance.
