My name is Vanessa Villegas and I am a Partner at Grant Thornton in the area of Public Law, Urban Planning and Environmental Law. I began my professional career after graduating in Seville and spending more than four years preparing for the Spanish Tax Inspector competitive examinations, an experience that shaped my technical rigor and disciplined approach to legal practice.
I started working as legal counsel for construction companies in El Puerto de Santa María and Jerez, where I developed a strong interest in urban planning law and began to specialize in this field. I later joined Sanguino Abogados, where I built and led the Administrative Law, Urban Planning and Environmental Law Department for 17 years.
During that time, the department became one of the firm’s most significant practice areas in terms of client portfolio and revenue. Alongside my professional work, I was actively involved in university teaching, which allowed me to maintain an up-to-date and analytical perspective on regulatory developments.
