I am a partner in the Litigation and Regulatory Compliance area of Grant Thornton in Barcelona. From this position, I advise entities and entrepreneurs in complex commercial disputes, insolvency proceedings and in the design and implementation of compliance programs aimed at protecting the business, reducing risks and improving decision-making.
My practice focuses on commercial law and conflict resolution: I advise Spanish and international clients with a results-oriented approach, always looking for a rational and realistic solution to the conflict. I have directed cases before the main courts and in all instances in Spain, and I have also intervened before national and international arbitration courts and in ad hoc arbitrations.
In the field of regulatory compliance, I lead the development of compliance systems in the broad sense and, in particular, crime prevention programs in Barcelona. With my team, I have designed and implemented compliance models in relevant companies by size and turnover, and I have participated in the creation of conflict management mechanisms within organizations, taking advantage of the experience accumulated in litigation and negotiation.
In addition, I have a solid track record in insolvency and restructuring. I have intervened in bankruptcy proceedings on behalf of debtors and creditors, including sales of productive units, restructurings, liquidations and asset recovery, and I have acted as an Insolvency Administrator appointed by Commercial Courts in different proceedings.
I joined Grant Thornton in 2017 after a period of more than a decade leading a litigation and arbitration area in an international law firm. I combine professional practice with academic and research activity: I have a PhD in Law from the University of Barcelona and my research has focused on conflict management. I am a professor of Procedural Law and Negotiation, Mediation and Arbitration at the Abat Oliba University – CEU and an academic collaborator at ESADE Law School. In 2014 I obtained a Weinstein International Fellowship to develop postdoctoral research at Stanford Law School.
